Itinerary
DAY 1
Morning arrival to the Zagreb Airport. Transfer to San Rocco hotel in Brtonigla, Istria. Afternoon visit to famous Coronica winery, tour of the vineyard and wine tasting. Walk around Istrian hills nearby (possibility of a bike ride). Dinner in Brtonigla wine cellar - Boskarin's creation (indigenous Istrian beef) based menu.
DAY 2
Visit to Gerzinic for a typical home made breakfast. Trip to Pula, the secret capital of Istria. Sightseeing - Pula has been delighting amateur historians for over 3000 years, proudly presenting them with its heritage. Visit to the Roman Arena (Croatian Colloseum), the most important monument in Croatia from the Roman antiquity, erected in the 1st Century. Lunch at one of the top restaurants in the county, Valsabion or Alla Beccaccia. Walk in the country side. Visit to Meneghetti winery. Guided wine tasting: mature Malvazija. Pairing food and different olive oils, cooking lessons.
DAY 3
Breakfast on the hotel terrace. Visit to Kozlovic Winery (famous for its Muskat). Lunch at Buscina, Marija na Krasu. Gourmet activities according to the season (truffle hunting, olive, mushroom and asparagus picking, visiting Boskarin farm). Visit to Groznjan. Coming back to hotel for slowfood dinner with paired wines. Overnight in the hotel.
DAY 4
Breakfast. Visit to Motovun, an ancient picturesque town surrounded by city walls dating from Middle Ages. Sightseeing with storytelling - for centuriies people have been retelling fairy tales, stories and legends of giants and fairies, which are still believed to visit this mystical hill. According to recent data Motovun is situated at the crossroads of the so called 'Dragon's furrows', earth's meridians which are said to have a relaxing effect, encourage creativity and enchance meditation. Walk in Istrian hills wuth legend story telling. Return to Zagreb airport and departure.
